Abstract:

Hybrid Friction Stir Welding (HFSW) recently gained enormous progress in the area of similar and dissimilar metals joining. Many new methods like induction assisted friction stir welding, laser assisted friction stir welding, ultrasonic vibration-assisted friction stir welding, etc. These are some of the latest techniques introduced in the past five years. Moreover, dissimilar metal joining is widely done by using these methods. This book explains these hybrid friction stir welding methods on similar and dissimilar metals with precise material characterizations.

Abstract:

Prof. Jien-Wei Yeh coined a name for the new alloys, which have more than five alloying elements as “high-entropy alloys” (HEAs). The current HEAs research is promising and extensive demands of such materials in 3D printing. 3D printing is widely applicable in all industries, and the necessity of 3D printed HEAs alloys are in high demand. This proposed book explains the processing of HEAs for 3D printing, applications, advantages, comparison of 3D printed Vs conventional HEAs cast and characterizations of 3D printed HEAs with proper images and, finally, case studies.
